Institutions & Development
Reliable power, documented for funders.
UN agencies, NGOs, government offices and media houses need power they can rely on and reports their funders accept. We deliver both, from measuring the load to installation and long-term maintenance.

Our engineering meets donor and development-finance standards.
Donors and development finance institutions (DFIs) expect documentation they can rely on, the same standard at every site and results they can measure. We have measured, designed, built and maintained systems for UN agencies, NGOs, embassies, government bodies and media houses, from single offices to nationwide programmes, and broadcast and other always-on operations get the backup they cannot go without.
UN & Donor Programmes
We take programmes across many sites from the first feasibility study through installation and maintenance.

UN agencies and development partners need affordable, workable solar, backed by documentation they can rely on at every site. We measure the loads, work out a solution for each site and deliver at programme scale, from 250 UNICEF health centres to load, site and economic assessments for UNHCR refugee settlement sites with GIZ.

NGO Field Operations
Compact systems keep field offices and community facilities running on weak grids.

NGO field operations run from scattered sites with unreliable grids and heavy generator use. We build solar backup for office clusters, community facilities and field offices, which cuts out generator hours and gives teams steady, quiet power. In Hoima, one system now powers a whole compound of DGB field offices without daily generator runs, and in Fort Portal a small system keeps the lights and phones on at Toro Babies Home.

- Generator hours removed

Offices & Embassies
Offices, embassies and public buildings get dependable backup and clear monitoring.

Offices and diplomatic missions need dependable backup that runs in stable zero feed-in mode, meaning nothing is exported to the grid, with clear monitoring and documentation ready for tender. We survey, measure, design and install office solar backup, and we diagnose and repair underperforming systems, as we have for several GIZ offices. For the Netherlands Embassy we assessed solar and EV charging across six residences.

Broadcast & Media
A station that broadcasts around the clock cannot afford a single moment off air.
/Next Media Park (NBS).webp)
Broadcast and media houses run twenty-four hours a day and cannot go dark during transmission. We build solar and battery systems that take on the heavy daytime load and keep the station on air through outages, as at Next Media Park, home of NBS and Uganda’s largest independent media house. We also designed the extension of the Radio Pacis plant in Arua, up to 500 kWp.

Solar on a site that never switches off
Next Media Park in Kampala has 86 kWp of PV and 96 kWh of storage. Broadcast runs 24 hours a day, which changes what a solar system has to be.
Read more →Why we specify LFP over NMC on weak grids
A battery on a weak Ugandan grid works harder than the same battery in a stable market. Chemistry choice follows from that, and so does service life.
Read more →Zero feed-in: what it means when the grid will not take your surplus
Uganda has no net metering for commercial and industrial users. That single fact shapes how every grid-tied system on this site gets sized.
