Industry & Processing

Keep your line running and cut the diesel bill.

When the grid drops, the line stops, batches spoil and the generator eats into your margin. We build solar, battery and generator systems that keep production moving and take a large share of diesel out of your costs, sized to the load we measure on your site.

Why solar for industry

Energy is your most controllable production cost.

A processing plant depends on its uptime. Every outage halts the line, spoils a batch, leaves staff standing idle and forces a hard restart on motors and controls, while the diesel that fills the gap keeps getting more expensive. A well-engineered solar and battery system carries your process through those outages, takes a large share off the diesel bill and pays for itself within a few years. We start by logging what your plant actually consumes and size the system to that real load. Because we engineer, build and commission the whole system ourselves as a leading EPC contractor (engineering, procurement and construction) working since 2011, one team stays accountable from the first measurement to years of service.

Agro-processing

Tea & Coffee Processing

Withering, drying and CTC (crush, tear, curl) lines pull heavy power all day, often on some of the weakest rural grids in the country.

Rooftop solar array on the Kyamuhunga tea processing factory in Bushenyi, Uganda

Tea and coffee factories run long, power-hungry processing days, usually far from a strong grid. We size a hybrid system, where solar and battery work together with the grid and your existing generator, to the processing curve, so drying and processing keep running when the grid does not. Our largest hybrid system to date, 500 kWp of solar with 200 kWh of battery, runs the Kyamuhunga tea factory in Bushenyi.

  • Covers the daytime processing load
  • Works with your generator through long outages
  • Sized to your real production curve

Dairy & Milk Processing

Chilling and processing never stop, and a single interruption can put a whole batch of milk at risk.

Solar power system at Jesa Farm Dairy processing plant in Busunju, Uganda

Dairy plants need uninterrupted power for chilling, pasteurising and processing. We connect solar with the grid and the generator so the cold chain and the process line never lose supply. At Jesa Farm Dairy, one of Uganda’s largest independent dairy processors, solar runs the continuous process loads by day, with the generators connected behind it as backup.

  • Milk cooling that never stops
  • Solar, grid and generator on one controller
  • Protects continuous process loads

Food & Beverage

Processing, packing and refrigeration run through the day, which is exactly when solar produces most.

Food and beverage plants carry a steady daytime load that solar is well suited to cover, with battery backup protecting the cold chain and critical circuits. Systems can be delivered under a power purchase agreement (PPA), so you pay for the power rather than the hardware and start saving from day one. Sumz Food Industries in Nkoowe covers its full daytime process load this way.

  • Daytime process load covered
  • Cold-chain circuits protected
  • Available with no upfront cost

FMCG & Consumer Goods

Steady shift loads are a good match for solar that you use on site, paid for under a power purchase agreement.

Solar installation at Everbrown Millers and Bakery in Uganda

Consumer-goods plants run consistent shift loads, which suits a solar system that runs alongside the grid and is sized so the plant uses everything it produces. Uganda does not pay commercial users for power fed back into the grid, so these systems are set to zero feed-in. At Everbrown Millers & Bakery we built systems on two neighbouring plants under a single agreement, and both pay less to the grid from their first day with nothing paid upfront.

  • Runs alongside the grid, nothing exported
  • Sized so you use every unit
  • One agreement across several plants

Cold Chain & Logistics

Meat, fish and produce businesses depend on cold rooms that have to stay cold through every outage.

Rooftop solar system at the Ranchers Finest meat processing plant in Kampala, Uganda

When the power goes, a cold room starts losing stock, so we put refrigeration and controls on protected circuits with battery backup and tie solar in with your existing generator. At Ranchers Finest, a Kampala meat processor, solar now carries the cold chain by day and the generators carry far less of it.

  • Refrigeration on battery backup
  • Works with your generator
  • Critical circuits on their own protected supply
