EPC Delivery Model

We run your project from audit to service.

Equator Solar is a leading EPC contractor in Uganda. We engineer, procure, construct and commission the whole system and then keep it running, so you deal with one accountable team from the first site visit to long-term maintenance.

What EPC means

We engineer it, buy it, build it and keep it running.

EPC stands for engineering, procurement and construction. In practice it means one contractor carries the whole project and stays accountable for the result, so you never deal with a chain of suppliers blaming each other when something fails. We measure how much power you use, design the system on that data, buy the right components, build and commission it with our own team and maintain it for its lifetime, which is how a system keeps running your operation for twenty-five years.

How we deliver

Three things we handle ourselves on every project.

Engineer

Engineering-led design

We measure your real power use before we size anything, and then design on that data instead of on the size of your roof.

Every system starts with measurement. We log your actual consumption, typically for 7 to 30 days, check how often the grid really fails and build a financial model on your numbers. You get a system sized to your operation, with documentation that banks and development funders accept, and we bring the same care to the feasibility studies we do for GIZ, UNICEF and UNHCR.

Procure & construct

In-house construction and integration

Our own team builds the system and integrates solar, battery, grid and generator into one controller.

We buy components from the top-ranked (tier-one) manufacturers and build with our own crews, so quality and safety stay under our control. The hard part of an industrial system is making solar, battery, grid and generator hand over to each other automatically without a gap, and we do that engineering in house on systems from 20 kWp up to 2 MWp.

Operate

Long-term operation and maintenance

We monitor the system remotely, catch faults early, and keep it performing for its full lifetime.

A system that nobody watches fails quietly. Under an O&M (operation and maintenance) contract we monitor your system remotely, flag faults automatically and visit on schedule. Contracts run from one to five years with emergency response within 48 hours anywhere in Uganda, so the system keeps making the power it was built to make long after commissioning.

The delivery process

The six stages from first site visit to long-term service

Every project runs through the same six stages. The timeline depends on system size and site, but the sequence and the accountability do not change.

1

Audit & feasibility

We measure your power use, check how reliable the grid is and build a financial model on your real consumption.

2

Engineering & design

We complete the electrical and mechanical design, size the system and prepare technical documents that banks accept.

3

Procurement

We source and quality-check tier-one components and state the specification of every part in writing.

4

Construction & installation

Our own crews build the system to a German engineering standard, with safety under our control.

5

Commissioning & handover

We test the system, make sure solar, battery, grid and generator work together and hand over with training for your staff.

6

Operation & maintenance

Under a 1 to 5-year contract, we monitor the system remotely, service it on schedule and respond to emergencies.

Why it holds up

We bring a German engineering standard to Uganda.

Our German technology partners set the engineering discipline, and we apply it to East African conditions: weak grids, heavy reliance on diesel and a supply chain that punishes shortcuts.

German technology partners

We work with NEXIRA in Kassel and renergy consulting in Ettenheim, bringing a German engineering standard to every design.

Tier-one components only

We use Jinko solar panels, Huawei and Deye inverters and BYD and Dyness batteries, and we name them on every proposal instead of a generic substitute.

One accountable team

The same contractor designs, builds, commissions and maintains your system. You have one point of responsibility for twenty-five years.

If the upfront cost is the barrier, a finance partner can fund the system under a power purchase agreement (PPA), so you pay for the solar power you use instead of buying the hardware.
